What can I expect in the first session?
In our initial session, we will get to know one another. We can discuss your most pressing needs and possible interventions to bring
you some immediate change. While using techniques from a combination of approaches, the goal is to provide results as quickly as possible.
How long do sessions last?
Individual sessions last about 50-55 minutes, usually once per week, between the hours of 10am to 6pm Tuesday through Thursday and on Saturday.
Couples sessions usually last for 50-55 minutes, but sometimes longer sessions are scheduled as needed.
What is the difference between coaching and psychotherapy?
Unlike psychotherapy, which is generally long-term and is concerned with the dynamics processes underlying psychological dysfunction,
coaching is short term, and is focused on changing behavior in the present. Rather than
focusing on the past; analyze the problem or treating a dysfunction, coaching is future- oriented method and is about
enhancing relationship, performance or one’s life experience by constructing and implementing solutions.
How can I tell if I can trust a therapist or coach?
In California, therapists are highly regulated and you can trust that most licensed therapists know what they're doing.
However, you may want more out of therapy than mere competence. Many therapists devote their time to continuing education and training
which provides them with a broader set of skills with which to help you. This can translate to more rapid and more profound results.
In California - and most other states - coaches are not regulated to required to have any type of training or education. When looking for a coach,
it's a good idea to see one that is also a psychotherapist because he or she will be able to help you psychological issues that come up.
How do I know that therapy or coaching will help me?
When starting therapy or coaching, you never know exactly what the outcome will be. Some of the people I've worked with have reported
remarkable results in as little as one session. This is particularly true when dealing with time sensitive issues using hypnosis and NLP.
Regardless of the problems a client is facing, my goal is to help them feel better as quickly as possible.
